Our character dolls have challenged the stereotypes, misconceptions and injustices in our society with the power of community organizing, art, music, non-violent actions and peaceful teachings.  Thanks to their courage, their innovative ideas, and maverick vision, our world is a better place today.

We understand that some of the content may be considered harsh for child audiences. Whether it is explaining what a dictatorship is, or the concept of heteronormativity we strongly believe that the more children know, the more tolerant, critical, and balanced they will grow up to be.

Oveja Negra wants to bring forth not only the lives of amazing role models from around the world, but also the history that shaped their lives. We created this company to fill in the void in schools’ textbooks. It simply would not be moral for us to write about history without mentioning the good, the bad, and the ugly. Like the philosopher George Satanyana wisely said, “Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it.” We provide tools for families to engage in conversations and foster children’s curiosity and critical thinking.
